Transfer and Transcripts

Transfer Credit Evaluations

Transcripts will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Transfer course outcomes from the transfer institution will be evaluated and matched to equivalent courses taught at CCA or within the Colorado Community College System. CCA will transfer in ALL courses regardless of applicability to your declared program, prior courses are a part of the students’ academic history. Additional transfer guidelines are listed below.

  • Grades of "C" or better will be accepted in transfer.
  • Per the Colorado Department of Higher Education, all guaranteed transfer (GT) courses will be accepted for 10 years from the semester the start of the semester they were taken. All other courses and out of state classes will follow the timelines decided by the specific departments based on how quickly course material and the field the course resides in changes.

The Credentials Evaluator will transfer in appropriate courses after students have completed all of the following:

  • Complete an Admissions Application and declare the desired degree/certificate
  • Speak with an academic advisor for a review of your unofficial transcripts
  • Please visit www.CCAurora.edu/transfer-in for transfer details.

Students with college credit outside the United States are strongly encouraged to speak with their academic advisor or the Credentials Evaluator before sending those transcripts.

International transcripts must first be evaluated/translated by a NACES member and sent directly from NACES to be considered official. For more information about NACES, go to https://www.naces.org/

Please note: To graduate from CCA, students are required to take 25% of the credit hours in their program at CCA regardless of the number of credit hours transferred in.

Once a class is transferred into CCA it becomes apart of your academic record and will not be removed from the record.
It is the responsibility of the student to provide all required documents. Credits are typically evaluated and posted to the student record within 30 days of receipt. Notification of the completed evaluation will be sent to student emails. Students may also review their transfer credits through Degree Check.

Transcript Requests

The Registration and Records Office, located at the CentreTech Campus, Administration Building maintains student records and issues transcripts. Students may request that a copy of their Community College of Aurora transcript be sent to another college, or to an employer by requesting a transcript through MyCCA, or the transcripts link on CCA's website. The college encourages all students to request electronic delivery of their transcripts for both fast delivery and the lowest cost.
