Military Training
Credit for knowledge and skills gained in the U.S. Military is recognized based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide.
Military training classified by ACE in the vocational category is not considered college level and will not directly translate into college credits. If you wish to have military training in the vocational category considered for college credits, you may use the portfolio review or challenge exam.
For Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or Navy personnel, the Joint Service Transcript (JST) will be evaluated for applicable transfer credits, based on ACE recommendations and the declared degree or certificate. For Air Force personnel, credits from the Community College of the Air Force transcript (CCAF) will be evaluated for applicable transfer credits.
Active service members or veterans may request a copy of their JST on the Department of Defense website. The JST eliminates the need for the DD Form 295.
