FVM 1025 Women in Film
3 Credit hours 60 Contact hours
Concentrates on the history of women in film; specifically, female writers, producers, directors, cinematographers, actors, and editors. Films will be reviewed and analyzed for the voices women play in the film, including how it affects the viewer’s perception of women. This course explores portrayal of women from different decades and the cultural implications of women’s involvement in the filmmaking medium presently while comparing dynamic female characters verses stereotypical female characters.

Successful completion of
ENG 1021 (with a grade C or better) or equivalent assessment score.
