EDU 3230 Math Intervention for Diverse and Exceptional Learners

2 Credit hours

Explores methods of identifying mathematical misunderstandings in learners with disabilities and exceptional learners. This course explores strategies for evaluating disabilities that impact math learning and addressing mathematical knowledge gaps. Topics include designing effective interventions, creating supportive learning environments, and aligning intervention with Individualized Education Programs. This course employs tailored instructional approaches to meet individual needs, strengthen conceptual understanding, and foster the development of problem-solving skills. This course has a field experience component.

Prerequisite

Successful completion of or concurrent enrollment in MAT 1230 (grade C or better).
