Academic Learning Center
The Academic Learning Center works to transform student learning through the following academic support services:
Tutoring - In-person and online tutoring is available in the areas of Science, Math, Writing, ESL, and Computer Information Systems. To view tutoring schedules, visit ALC Tutoring Schedules. For additional assistance, TutorMe is available with instant onlineaccess to tutoring 24 hours a day/7 days a week in over 300 subjects.
Academic Success Workshops - Student Lingo offers instant online access to a broad range of interactive on-demand workshops, action plans, and valuable resources to help students achieve their academic, personal, and career goals.
Supplemental Instruction (SI) - Weekly group study sessions, led by an SI Leader, give students an opportunity outside of the classroom to ask questions and better understand course content in a relaxed and engaging setting. Students who regularly attend SI sessions typically score a half to a full letter grade higher than those who don’t. SI is currently offered in some sections of English Composition I, College Algebra, and College Biology I. Check your course’s D2L page to view session times and locations.
Computer Labs and Study Space - Computer access, printers, and study space are available for student use at Lowry and CentreTech. Plus, students may receive one-on-one assistance with D2L, Microsoft Word, and other basic computer questions.
