Respiratory Therapy, A.A.S.
Teaches the duties, responsibilities and skills associated with the practice of respiratory therapy. Students will learn principles of cardiopulmonary anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and care. General education requirements will be taken at CCA and content specific to respiratory therapy will be offered at Pickens Technical College. Students must apply to Pickens Technical College to enter the program after general education requirements are met.
All courses with the prefix RCA must be taken at Pickens Technical College and transferred back to CCA.

Residency Requirements
CCA's residency requirement requires that 25 percent of all coursework applicable toward a degree must be credit hours taken at CCA and be 100 level or above. This policy can be found in the
Degree and Certificate Policies, item 6. If a student transfers in credits from other institutions that apply towards the general education requirements for the Respiratory Therapy degree which results in the student not being able to meet the CCA residency graduation requirement, a student should choose from the list below to meet the CCA residency graduation requirement. These courses are
NOT eligible to be transferred in to CCA as a part of the Respiratory Therapy Program. Please note, these courses
do not replace or substitute any of the general education courses listed above.
