ECO 202 Principles of Microeconomics (GT-SS1)

3 Credit hours      45 Contact hours

Studies the firm, the nature of cost, and how these relate to the economy as a whole. Analyzes economic models of the consumer, perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly, and monopolistic competition. Explores economic issues including market power, population growth, positive and negative externalities, income distribution, poverty and welfare, discrimination, and international economic interdependence. This is a stand-alone course; ECO 201 is not a prerequisite.

Prerequisite

Successful completion of CCR 092 (grade C or higher) or equivalent assessment scores and successful completion of level MAT 120 or higher (grade C or higher) or qualifying assessment scores (Accuplacer EA 60+, ACT Math 19+, SAT MAT 500+). *Note: MAT 121 is necessary for students in some degrees including the AA Business and AA Economics programs. These students should not take MAT 120. Please see an academic advisor if you have any questions.*
